Every neighborhood in Hvolsvöllur gets its own color — and they compete to decorate their streets in all the colors of the rainbow for the festival.
We encourage all residents to decorate their surroundings in their neighborhood color. Flags, banners, balloons and lights — anything that brightens up the street. The most beautiful neighborhood wins the decoration prize at the festival's opening.
